First, take a flat piece of wood, two nails, a piece of string and a pencil. Drive the nails a short distance apart, and then loosely tie both ends of the string to the two nails. Then use the pencil to stretch the string so that it is *taught* from one nail via the pencil to the other nail .
Eccentricityを説明した文です。 taughtに、teachの過去分詞以外の意味があるのでしょうか? 恐らく tightenedかなにかのtypoかと思うのですが、それにしてはスペルが違いすぎます。 何か特殊な意味があるのでしょうか?
