Explanation:
ci provo, nel senso che se la "throttle" è la valvola a farfalla che nel motore serve ad aumentare l'afflusso di carburante, e quindi ad accelerare, il throttleman dovrebbe essere quello che la manovra.
Ho visto però che usano anche in italiano il termine inglese, in un altro articolo mettono "xx sta alle manette"

Il throttleman controlla la velocità e assetto del catamarano. Attraverso due leve gestisce il motore, cercando di evitare i fuorigiri quando l'imbacazione "vola" su di un'onda e le eliche si trovano completamente fuori dall'acqua. Naturalmente il throttleman gestisce anche il cambio (attraverso altri leveraggi) ed è in grado di modificare l'assetto tramite il trim.

Avendo trovato "throttleman" in molti siti italiani, io opterei per lasciarlo invariato a meno che non voglia spiegarlo brevemente tra parentesi o definirlo come un "addetto alla velocità e all'assetto del catamarano".
