Any clues on the name used in Italian for this expression?

I have found the same expression in a gambling context, but it´s probably a different story for rolling mills. The glossary also shows "cilindro portante" for !pass line rolls", but there is no context.

"How ***pass line*** is calculated in hot rolling mill? The pass line is a line that runs parallel through the roll partings and passes through the centre of the stock area"

Viene effettuata in quanto si possono ottenere maggiori riduzioni di spessore ad ogni passata tra i cilindri grazie al fatto che il metallo è caldo.
I semilavorati vengono dapprima riscaldati fina a circa 1200°C. Dopo essere stati riscaldati i lingotti vengono sottoposti a laminazione a caldo nel laminatoio sbozzatore reversibile, secondo i passaggi riassunti nella figura seguente:
