Il termine italiano usato dall'ENEL è fioretto, perchè si tratta di un asta in vetroresina (da cui stick) che serve per compiere manovre in alta tensione (AT). Maneggiando un interruttore di cabina, non è possibile avvicinarsi con le mani perchè si creerebbe un arco elettrico mortale, così anche per rimuovere un cavo spezzato ancora sotto tensione.
