core course Corso base Explanation: 'Core' inteso come aggettivo significa principale, centrale, 'core' inteso come sostantivo é sostanzialmente l'essenza di qualcosa. Se abbinato al termine corso 'core' assume il significato di 'base' nel senso di 'formativo' e quindi un 'core course' é quasi sempre 'mandatory' o 'compulsory' (obbligatorio) per il conseguimento del titolo di studio a cui si riferisce. Si dice 'core course' per fare distinzione tra i corsi di base obbligatori e quelli che si possono scegliere da una lista, che vengono detti 'elective courses'. Non 'corso di base' o per principianti come hai scritto tu e un'altra persona, perché altrimenti sarebbe 'beginner's course' Example sentence(s):
