Botany / fogliame
English term or phrase: foliage interest
Si sta parlando della finocchiella (sweet cicely):

After flowering, cut back because the late summer regrowth will provide ***foliage interest*** until the first frosts. This secondary growth also provides fresh aniseed leaves and flowers to add to autumnal and early winter salads.

Flowers don't always have to be the star of the show. With some combination of intriguing texture, rich color, and fine fruit, these plants know how to be heart-breakers without even needing to flower. Some of them do flower, but at that point it is just showing off! Almost every color under the sun is represented in the foliage of this diverse collection, which maintains its visual interest much longer than your average flower!
