dianella cerulea (in italiano dato che il dittongo latino ae =e Explanation: These very pretty little blue dainty dangling flowers are Dianella caerulea (Blue Flax Lily) a very common native in my part of the world and a delight to photograph as the morning or afternoon light has a great effect on them. They can be a difficult subject to shoot though due to the habitat in which they grow and that they flower randomly along the stem, many times with a relatively big gap between flowers. Finding one with a lot of flowers blooming at the same time is a rarity |

Dianella caerulea Explanation: Blue Fax Lily Dianella caerulea This plant has hard strappy leaves up to 20 mm wide and 30-50 cm long. Subspecies are determined by the structure of the stem, near the root. Inflorescences in Spring-Summer, up to 60 cm long, formed by small, star-shaped, blue or (rarely) white flowers with petals that are bent backwards and with yellow protruding stamens.
