Thanks Frejya, GFM and Laura (sorry about the scanty context). I had looked in Eurodicautom but I didn't think of putting in the gerund (although even "damping" alone can't pull this one). That DB uses some wierd search criteria don't it? Anyway, it's definitely gonna be a fungal problem, but I don't want to get too specific about exactly which fungus is doing the damage.

Non hai dato molto contesto, comunque questa malattia - provocata solo indirettamente dall'eccesso d'acqua, nel senso che quest'ultimo provoca la predisposizione delle piante agli attacchi di funghi, si chiama "marciume bruno" o "allupatura"
