A race call értelmezésében tévedsz. "a bemondó közvetíti a nézőknek, hogy mi történik a futam alatt a pályán" - nem ezt jelenti.
A race call, vagyis "calling the race" azt jelenti, amikor bejelentik, hogy ki nyert. Ez sokszor már akkor látható, mielőtt a verseny hivatalosan véget érne (pl. akkora előnnyel vezet valaki a célegyenesben, hogy azt már nem lehet behozni). Választásokon is használják a "call the election" kifejezést, a győztes kihirdetését, bejelentését jelenti.
Úgy is lehet mondani, hogy az eredmény bejelentése.

Szilas, a "race call" (így) használatos választásoknál és más versenyeken is. Én lóversenyt nem szoktam nézni, más versenyeken viszont a közvetítő elnevezése "announcer" vagy "commentator". Legalábbis itt az USA-ban. Lehet, hogy a lóversenyeknél tényleg az egész futamra vonatkozik - a belinkelt videóból ez nem derült ki, mert mind a befutók szerepeltek benne.

Asker: Köszönöm a választ, de szerintem nem tévedek az értelmezésben. A "race call" és a "calling the race" bár valamilyen módon hasonlóak, két különböző fogalom. Elismerem, hogy nem vagyok lóversenyszakértő, de úgy tűnik, hogy a "race call" (így!) egy olyan kifejezés, amelyet a lóversenyeknél használnak. Marto Ági linkje ezt igazolni is látszik. A race/election párhuzamot ismerem, de itt most nem kampányfinisről, hanem telivér lovak versenyzéséről van szó.

Asker: Talán valóban nem volt szerencsés választás az a link. Idő hiányában csak belenéztem és rávágtam, hogy biztos jó lesz. Azt meg én nem tudtam, hogy ugyanezt a kifejezést használják a választásoknál is. Kinek mi jut eszébe, ugye? Én pedig amúgy a választások kihirdetését nem szoktam nézni. Ami azt illeti lóversenyt is csak hivatásból.
