| Reference: Respite care - respite centers Reference information: A “respite care” a családnak, hozzátartozóknak a beteg családtag ápolásával járó stresszét, terheit hivatott megkönnyíteni (maga az elnevezés abból jön, hogy "to offer respite from something". Lehet intézményes formában is, ahol a beteget naponta pár órán át gondozzák, (és pl. munka után egy családtagja érte megy), és éjszakára hazamehet a családhoz, vagy lehet a beteg saját lakásába is hívni gondozót. "Respite" refers to short term, temporary care provided to people with disabilities in order that their families can take a break from the daily routine of caregiving. Itt nálunk gyakori megoldás az, hogy a magát ellátni nem tudó beteget ilyen "respite center"-ben gondozzák.
