virágágyi dísznövény Explanation: Virágágyak (és virágládák) feltöltésére használt dísznövény. Néhány angol definíció: Annual plants that are good for quickly filling in flower beds. http://www.gardeningknowhow.com/glossary?snap=B Plants used in large numbers in usually temporary displays. Most often annuals, tender perennials, and bulbs not able or intended to naturalize and which are grown indoors or under glass before planting. http://glossary.gardenweb.com/glossary/nph-ind.cgi?scrug=166... Plants (mainly annuals), nursery grown and suitable for growing in beds. Quick, colorful flowers. http://www.thegardenhelper.com/dictionary.html#B An ornamental flowering plant or foliage plant suited by habit for growing in beds or masses. Ezeket gyűjtőnéven virágágyi dísznövényeknek nevezzük szerintem. Nevelhetők magról, hagymáról, gumóról, és lehetnek mind virágágyi évelők, mind egynyári virágok. http://www.arsnatura.hu/novenytelepites.html http://www.faiskola.hu/novenykatalogus/novenyek.html?start=6... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2010-11-02 08:03:40 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Vörösbegyvirág (Nemesia-fajok és fajták) Alacsony termetű virágágyi dísznövény http://www.faiskola.hu/novenykatalogus/noveny/1312-vorosbegy... dísznövény, rendszerint évelő, amelyet védett helyi növesztés után virágzás előtt kiültetnek Explanation: Valami hasonló. Ezt most nem dafke írtam, hanem azért, hogy éreztessem, hogy a bedding plant értelmezésében a védett/beltéri eredet és a kiültetés elmaradhatatlan tényező. Az OED definíciója: a plant set into a garden bed or container WHEN it is about to bloom, typically an annual used for display and discarded at the end of the season. A már emlegetett meghatározás is megfelel a fentieknek, és gondolom, nem véletlenül írták. Itt a teljes szöveg: Britannica Concise Encyclopedia: bedding plant Plant that is grown, usually in quantity, in pots or flats in a greenhouse or similar structure, and that is intended to be transplanted to a flower garden, hanging basket, window box, or other outdoor planter. Most bedding plants are annuals. They are transplanted outdoors after all danger of frost has passed. www.answers.com/topic/bedding-plant A hosszú magyarázatot persze nem lehet szövegben használni, ezért javasoltam az előző kérdésben a "dísznövény palánta" kifejezést. A virágágyban a dísznövény lehet öreg, évelő növény is, de akkor az nem bedding plant. A Magyar Dísznövény Szövetség pl. a rózsát dísznövénynek tekinti. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 12 hrs (2010-11-02 17:17:45 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- BOCS, NEM ÉVELŐ, véletlenül elírtam: egy nyári!!! -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 days18 hrs (2010-11-04 23:28:29 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Találtam egy jó összefoglalót: BEDDING PLANTS Mostly Annuals and Biennials (or plants grown as such) raised almost to maturity (flowering), and then planted out. Known as “Bedded out”, often in large blocks for temporary displays. WHERE TO USE BEDDING PLANTS BEDDING OUT is devoting a bed or border entirely to bedding plants. •Formal bedding is a strictly geometrical arrangement of plants. •Informal bedding has no attempt to arrange the plants into geometrical shapes or straight lines. •Raised bedding, a way of raising plants above ground level. •Carpet bedding is the bedding out of dwarf plants with coloured foliage which is thickly planted to resemble a carpet. •Picture bedding is a range of low-growing plants that produce an picture. FILLING IN is where bedding plants are used to cover a small part of a bed or border. •Pocket planting is when gaps are left on purpose and filled in each year with spring or summer flowering plants. •Emergency planting is where an unsightly gap appears amongst shrubs or in the borders. New garden planting occurs when a new bed is developed and has large gaps whist the plants grow, the "filling in" plants cover the soil. SCREENING. The most usual purpose of growing screening plants is to provide privacy around a boundary, and bedding plants play only a minor role. The screen is permanent and sometimes the screen, a tall hedge, a wire fence or brick and wood is an unattractive feature. To brighten it up, climbing bedding plants can be planted at the base and are then trained or left to clamber against the permanent screen. CONTAINERS - Bedding plants can be used in free-standing containers. Having looked at all these points, provides us with a workable definition of a bedding plant: "A plant, which is moved at the leafy stage to its place in the garden or in a container where it provides a display for a limited period".
