5 | The best I ever had |
|
The best I ever had Explanation: If you are asking the difference in the meaning of the English sentences, in the first one, "You are the best I ever had", the noun being modified by best is implied, and "the best", in essence, is being used as a pronoun in place of that noun. So one has to know what the conversation is about. In the second sentence, "You are the best friend I ever had", the word "friend" is that noun (being modified by "best"). The first sentence could be used when talking about a hairdresser or an employee or a student, etc. Colloquially -- and this was the first sense that popped into my head when I read it, it means "You are the best (lover, lay, sex) that I ever had." Did you want the explanation in Hindi? -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 12 days (2009-07-21 21:16:39 GMT) Post-grading -------------------------------------------------- इस सेंटेंस में , "You are the best friend I ever had", (आप मेरे सब से अच्छे दोस्त हैं), "best" (सब से अच्चे) friend (दोस्त) के बारे में बताता है । जिस के बारे में बेस्ट बताता है साफ़ ज़ाहर है. इस सेंटेंस में, "You are the best I ever had", वह चीज़ घैब है जिस के बारे में "best" बताता है, लेकिन बातचीत के कारण समझ आती है। फ़र्ज़ करें आगर आप किस्सी नाई या मुलाजिम या विद्यार्थी के बारे में बात कर रहे हैं, तो ऐसा जुम्लह ठीक है। मगर अंग्रेज़ी में एक और मतलब है: यह अच्छा या अच्छी आशिक का स्लैंग है, तो ख़बरदार जब आप यह जुमलह इस्तेमाल करते हैं! मुझे उमीद है कि इससे आप को समझ आती है। |
