English term or phrase: seeking/receiving validation from others
perhaps the most common way people address their insecurities is by seeking validation from others...
But looking for validation outside of ourselves is a sure way to remain in the quagmire of unworthiness. When driven by an unconscious feeling of unworthiness, we are more likely to focus on what we did not accomplish or obtain; in other words, when we are driven by unworthiness, we will find evidence of it everywhere. Certainly, receiving validation from others is dangerous.
