Παρά το γεγονός ότι ενίοτε αντιδιαστέλλονται μεταξύ τους, vanity publishing και self-publishing δεν φαίνεται να διαφέρουν και πολύ, τουλάχιστον για τα ελληνικά δεδομένα.
