Andras, I have not taken issue with you, personally, please. You found those interpretations All I am saying, I will never use, neither did I use the term, on small houses, to say 'κορνίζα' in the place of 'fascia'.
I don't think that you, in your wisdom, was convinced, either. That's why you marked it with '2'. Have a nice evening.

Sorry, but I will never use, and never had used the word 'Cornice'=κορνίζα, to represent 'fascia'. Maybe the fascia is made of/with 'κορνίζα' and so are the 'frames' of Paintings. Also, in the Building trade, ''Cornice'=κορνίζα' is what goes on the corner of the ceiling and the wall,in a room.
I will never say, 'the fascia(dashboard)' in my car can be called 'κορνίζα'.
I have no comments for 'μαρκίζα'?? However, good luck!!!

I couldn't agree more with you, dear Transphy. It's not just the waste of time, it's the terrible mistakes that may occur out of such practices. Normally, I am very happy to help out peers when I come across familiar terminology. But the askers should be very careful when choosing the appropriate field. After all, isn't it obvious that every professional translator should try to deliver a correct translation to their client?

Time and time again, we get incomplete text. We try to help but we run around guessing, wasting our time, making fools of us by giving 'hypothetical' answers, many times arguing between ourselves.
I, for one, will think twice before I answer any of these questions any more.

Δεν πιστεύω να είναι δι' αυτοκίνητο, διότι, αν και τα αυτοκίνητα έχουνε 'fascia'
δεν έχουνε 'soffit'.
