Liebe Kollegen,

Zusammenhang ist folgender: Ein Unternehmen veranstaltet neben einer Konferenz für Führungskräfte des Unternehmens ein Event, bei dem die Mitarbeiter ehrenamtlich einen Teil ihrer Zeit damit verbringen, Essenspakete für notleidende Kinder zu packen. Der CEO des Unternehmens war der Meinung, dass "adding the outreach event to the conference would help express the values of xxx".
Nun bin ich nicht sicher, was gemeint ist:
ein sozial-ausgerichtetes Event, Wohltätigkeitsevent oder ist eher eine Veranstaltung gemeint, die eine grosse Bedeutung hatte, eine grosse Reichweite?

agree  Horst Huber (X): "Outreach" ist normalerweise einfach "Öffentlichkeitsarbeit". Mit dem Ausdruck erinnert der CEO die Mitarbeiter daran, daß die karitative Aktivität dem Unternehmen selbst zugute kommt.

agree  BrigitteHilgner: Wie so oft ist die US-amerikanische Sprache nicht sehr präzise - aber "outreach worker" ist u.a. der "Gassenarbeiter", insofern geht der Begriff "outreach" durchaus über Öffentlichkeitsarbeit hinaus (siehe Kommentar von Horst Huber).
