Reference: Obsolete Reference information: I'm sure this is obsolete terminology written many, many years ago before standard drill bit chucks with keys were common. When it was written there were probably still machines around that used set screws to tighten bits into the chuck. See second reference. I would translate "safety-bit chuck" as standard Bohrfutter, ohne Stellschrauben.
