die Ubersetzung ist wie folgend:

Explanation:
Die freigesetzte Energie des Atoms hat alles geandert ausser unseren Denkweisen und deshalb treiben wir zu eine beispiellose Katastrophe.

This is pretty much it. By the way, I recently translated personal handwritten letters from Einstein for the American Museum of Natural History in NY.

disagree  Iris Seifert (X): Don''t translate into German if you are not a German native. Not only are there grammatical errors, the German usage is also not accurate for the word "treiben".

-> First let me say this: I truely feel that you are very rude by making this kind of comment. This website was not intended for mud slinging. Secondly, I feel that comments like this should be kept to ones self.

neutral  LegalTrans D: Why re-translate??? Einstein wrote in German, so it is the matter of chasing up the original text, not re-translate a translation.

neutral  Susanne Rosenberg: TDVTrans, the last comment I made related to my first source (the first two lines of my suggestion). I never commented on your suggestion, if that's what you thought! :-)

Zitat (?)

Explanation:
"Die Freisetzung der Atomkraft hat alles verändert außer unsere Denkweise, deshalb treiben wir auf Katastrophen zu, die nicht ihres gleichen haben."

I'm not quite sure if this is the originial wording - I've found different "qoutations", e.g.

"Die entfesselte Atomkraft hat alles verändert, nur unsere Denkweise nicht."

(which is, of course, only the first part of the sentence).

Found another one:

\"Die Kernspaltung hat alles verändert, nur nicht die Art unseres Denkens, und deshalb bewegen wir uns auf eine Katastrophe ohnegleichen zu.\"

Correction (first \"qoute)\": This should be \"außer *unserer* Denkweise\" - I just copied and pasted withoug checking everything properly.

On the other hand, this - and the fact that the whole sentence ist not exactly what I would call excellent German - just might be a hint that perhaps this source is not the right one!
