Aus einem Buch über Logodesign: Professionalle Designer besprechen und kritisieren Logos von unterschiedlichen Designagenturen. Hier zwei Beispiele aus dem Originaltext:

- Another great use of typographical elements to create an ***anchor*** for the ‚H.‘ The balance of type to icon is perfect.

- A nice use of typographic elements to create a balanced ***anchor*** for the ‘C.’ Nice color combination gives this logo a sophisticated look.


Die jeweiligen Logos zeigen eine Art Banner bzw. Hintergrundverzierung (beide Male in horizontaler Form, ich bin mir aber nicht sicher, ob das für den Begriff wichtig ist), in deren Mitte dann beim einen Logo ein "H", beim anderen ein "C" steht. In beiden Abbildungen werden viele Schnörkel verwendet, wobei ich auch wieder nicht sicher bin, ob das direkt mit dem Begriff des "anchor" zu tun hat.

agree  EC Translate: Normally an anchor in a designer program or a word processor refers to the insertion point of an image. Verankerung seems optimal.
