From a presentation on a company's maternity benefits:
"New mothers can also decide to take a couple of months off after birth, return part time for a while, and then take the balance of the maternity leave when the baby is older."

I haven't found a confirmed translation of "new mother(s)". I have found "frischgebackene Mütter" (a bit colloquial) or "junge Mütter" (which I find misleading, as it could refer to the mother's age).

"Neue Mütter" or "frische Mütter" sounds weird to me in German. "werdende Mütter" is before birth.

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.
