Dieser Begriff ist im Definitionsteil einer Versicherungspolice enthalten:

"Costs and expenses" means

(...)

in respect of insuring clause 2, your legal costs and expenses in the defence or **settlement of any sanction** awarded against you, provided that we maintain all rights of subrogation to recover such legal costs and expenses from any director, officer or employee if they are found guilty of any criminal act."

Grundsätzlich ist der Satz für mich unproblematisch. Nur bei dem Begriff "settlement" stehe ich im Moment auf dem Schlauch. Die Übersetzung liegt mir auf der Zunge, aber ich komm' trotzdem nicht drauf.
