Marketing - Food & Drink / Biermarkt
English term or phrase: outrageous times
Compared with the Noughties, the Nineties were outrageous times. The conquest of central and eastern European beer markets is best likened to the Alaskan Gold Rush in the late 19th century when news that a ton of gold had been found started a stampede of estimated 100,000 prospectors.

I cannot think of a suitable term.
kaum glaubhaft, unfaßbar,
I do not like terms such as haarsträubend.

Anyone has a good idea? TIA

Maybe this will work - if it's not a bit too restrained for what you need:-)

Ausnahmezustand

Explanation:
Vielleicht umformulieren?
