English term or phrase: case | Hallo, liebe WochenendübersetzerInnen! Einige Kontexte: -) This ***case*** was written by AAAA, BBBB and CCCC, Chair for Business Administration and Sciences for Engineers and Scientists, RWTH Aachen University. It was made possible through the generous cooperation of COMPANY. The ***case*** is intended for class discussion rather than to illustrate either effective or ineffective handling of management situations. The development of the ***case*** was enabled by a grant of the European Community. Sole responsibility for the case resides with the authors. -) Introduction and summary of the ***case*** During the decade 2000-09, the renewable energy industry and in particular ,power generation by photovoltaic (solar) cells and wind mills, experienced steep growth rates in Germany and the rest of Europe. COMPANY, a German company founded in 1996 and located near Frankfurt was, until 2010, considered a successful company operating in this industry. However, due to regulatory changes, for example reductions in the feed-in tariffs for the European renewable energy market, and also as a consequence of its fast growth, by 2010 juwi was facing a variety of challenges. The ***case*** focuses on the company’s reactions to these challenges. -) This ***case*** is intended to introduce students to the challenges of a start-up company in the particular context of the renewable energy market. In addition to the data provided in the case, students should be encouraged to search for additional information from appropriate sources (e.g., book and internet search, expert interviews) to further enrich their solutions. This ***case*** may be used in courses such as ‘Entrepreneurship’, ‘International Business’, ‘Strategic Management’, and technical ‘Engineering’ or other Energy industry-related courses. Potential audiences for this ***case*** include students on MBA programs, Masters degrees and/or Bachelor degrees related to business administration and entrepreneurship, as well as non-degree participants in business courses, workshops and seminars. Students would benefit from a basic knowledge of ‘Entrepreneurship’, ‘International Business’ and ‘Strategic Management’. Und so weiter... Vielleicht hat ja jemand eine gute Idee - schon mal vielen Dank im Voraus und schönes Wochenende! |
