Lifetime Reserve Days (einmalige Krankenhauskostenübernahme durch Medicare) Explanation: Lifetime Reserve Days (LTR) is a Medicare concept, it has nothing to do with the "noch verbleibende Lebenszeit", but it is a "cushion", if you will, that Medicare will provide if you are hospitalized for more than 90 days. See the following references. Not surprisingly, I did not find any German equivalents for this. You might say something along the lines of, "xxx Tage Kostenübernahme durch Medicare ("Lifetime Reserve Days"), die mir zustehen, um die mir entstandenen (entstehenden) Kosten [or: um meine Kosten] zu reduzieren". Check out the following explanations; you are sure to find a lot more with a simple search on "Lifetime reserve days". That should help shed light on the concept. Definition LTR days are 60 additional benefit days that every Medicare Part A beneficiary has available to utilize for inpatient hospital services after he has utilized his 90 regular days (60 Full, 30 Coinsurance) for inpatient hospital services in one spell of illness. www.veritusmedicare.com/provider/bulletins/hospital/mho9600... Lifetime Reserve Days are 60 days that Medicare will pay for when you are put in a hospital for more than 90 days. These 60 reserve days can be used only once during your lifetime. For each lifetime reserve day, Medicare pays all covered costs except for a daily coinsurance of $388*. www.pueblo.gsa.gov/cic_text/fed_prog/medicare-mental/mental... mentalhealth.txt HTH! |
