Science - Psychology / personality trait
English term or phrase: grit as in the personality trait
Trying to translate this term and cannot find a French equivalent. Grit in psychology is a positive, non-cognitive trait based on an individual's passion for a particular long-term goal or end state, coupled with a powerful motivation to achieve their respective objective. I found one occurrence of "avoir du cran" but I find it does not do it justice. Here is some context: Here we examined the relation between mind wandering and the personality trait of ‘grit.’ It seems to be a mix between passionate and perseverant, or strongly motivated.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
