Here is the definition of "maverick of the year"
Maverick of the Year: recognizing the individual who's affected the most positive change on his or her organization and/or industry since the beginning of 2015.
A strange definition of "maverick" (cf Merriam Webster's definition http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/maverick Full Definition of maverick

: an unbranded range animal; especially : a motherless calf

: an independent individual who does not go along with a group or party
But then I would also point out in the definition of Maverick of the Year the use of Affected, whereas it should be Effected

Can you please give context - e.g. what sort of person gets this award? a cowboy/girl? a rogue? or is it a term (albeit misused) for a dynamic, driven, A1, tycoon?
