English term or phrase: outputs/unit bases
context:
"To set up community policing, two main structures are key: the community policing committees and the CPF.
The committees act as elected governing entities that administer the activities and exist at all levels: county, sub-county, police station/ ward, location and sub-location.
The forums refer to the meetings or gatherings of residents ‘for the purpose of discussing their security and policing matters' and these ‘should be inclusive and represent all the stakeholders of the area'
Each police station/ward is responsible for deciding which activities should be undertaken, with the following activities suggested:
‘foot patrol, community meetings, door-to- door visits, public education programs, *outputs/ unit bases*, neighbourhood watch programmes, neighbourhood town meetings, and mobile police stations."

I have no idea what "outputs/ unit bases" means in this context. It is a type of activity suggested by the police to enhance community policing (a type of policing that fosters good relationships between the police and the citizens).

Does anyone out there have some helpful suggestions, even as to the meaning of this term in such a context?

postes [de police] de quartier
Explanation:
The difficulty most likely arises from a typo in the English: "output" should be "outpost", which in this context is indeed equivalent to "unit base".

Since "community police" translates as "police de proximité", the idea of a small local police unit in the context of community police can translate as "police de quartier" (in use in Canada).

agree  Daryo: it ought to be "outposts"

neutral  Germaine: Pour moi, "police ward" = poste (de police)/commissariat de quartier/bureau de police (satellite). Will "each police station/ward" decide to convert itself into/create a "neighbourhood police station/ward"?

neutral  Germaine: Le texte dit: "Each police station/ward is (...) deciding which ACTIVITIES should be undertaken [e.g.] the following...// Ok pour "initiatives", mais il faut encore distinguer affectations (unité mobile, police à vélo) et démembrement (poste de quartier).

Reference information:
The policing model adopted by the department, the neighbourhood police, is based on community police principles and places the public at the centre of its organization.

Local police stations (PDQ) are the first responders for public safety. They provide basic services to the local population that they serve. (…) Each local station reports into one of the four community services: North, South, East and West divisions. (…) The regional management teams are located in the operational centres. They also have investigation, detention, intervention, analysis and prevention units serving the local stations in the division. In order to carry out their activities and meet their mandate, the local police stations may also rely on support from the Specialized investigation service (SES) as well as a number of administrative departments.
