Social Sciences - Esoteric practices / hermetic philosophy
English term or phrase: MIND
The mind, in the Hermetic Science terminology, is conceived as the spirit (or divine part everyone carries) plus the integration of all other faculties into one single organ. Esprit is fine for the English Spirit. But how about mind thus defined? Which term, containing the needed (sememes : unites minimales de sens) to render the meaning MIND carries as herein defined in English?
This term appear in SECRET SCIENCE, and in THE STELLAR MAN both by JOHN BAINES (SEVERAL EDITIONS).
These books were translated from SPANISH into ENGLISH and I performed the ENGLISH/FRENCH trend; although not satisfied with the translation of MIND by Esprit and the Spirit also by Esprit.
These books are for almost all audiences. But the Author lives in Chile and has many Sections of his Institute in New-York (USA); Paris (France), Alexandria (Egypt); Buesnos Aires (Argentina); Beijing (China).
The specifics Contexts where it occurs are numerous; for example : IN THE STELLAR MAN, IN THE CHAPTER "NOTES FROM THE AUTHOR ONE READS :
The path of self-perfection is long and arduous.
There can be no other way than to pursue the
attainment of authentic power over oneself and one's own
existence, and to pursue the possession of a state of consciousness
in which disharmony, destructiveness, ugliness,
aggression, and unhappiness no longer exist. The real Hermetic
Initiate acquires the capacity to transcend such petty
realities, to instead place himself in the unlimited and infinite
context of absolute reality; that which transcends time
and space. From that moment on, he will never again be defeated
by hesitation, loneliness, or doubt. He will have
united himself harmoniously with that unique and powerful
force which is a creator and maintainer of life, what Hermes
called "MIND."
So this is what mind is conceived in English. I would like to find an adequate definite term in FRENCH, and also in FULANI, ARABIC, WOLOF.

Thanks. The references may be helpful. However It still unsatisfactory: MIND. I understand that if one is not an Initiate or versed in such Science, the subtleties may be not evident. HERE ITS ABOUT DEFINING SOMETHING QUITE NEW: how an EVOLVED INDIVIDUAL SUCCEED IN INTEGRATING ALL HIS FACULTIES (those well-known as the five senses and those less known: the soul that even many dictionaries define vaguely sometimes by "ame", sometimes by "esprit". So the words may carry different meanings.

Notes to answerer

http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddhi
