It seems that in Germany, before professors become fully certified professors, they are either "Junior Professors" or "Scientific Assistants" (see: https://www.eui.eu/ProgrammesAndFellowships/AcademicCareersO...

However, I didn't find any reference to the exact term "extracurricular Professor", so the translations I suggested are only interpretations.
