The English word “khaki”, which came into English from Persian via Urdu, is of great etymological interest.

Up to now, I would have translated it simply as “خاکی”. As you can see, in English “خاکی” means “dust-coloured”, as it refers to the colour of a uniform:

However, my Āryānpur doesn't give “خاکی” as meaning “dust-coloured” but rather “dusty” etc.; on the other hand, it does give “غباری” as having this meaning of dust-coloured. So, over to you!
