When I heard a word corresponding to ‘curfew’ (at least according to the subtitles) today on Iran TV, I'm sure that the word ‘نظامی’ was contained in it – something like ‘وقتِ رُک و نظامی’ to my ears. I wonder what it could have been?
On doing a search, I found the following:
http://www.proz.com/kudoz/persian_farsi_to_english/military_...It rightly establishes that حکومت نظامی on its own is best translated as ‘martial law’ and not ‘curfew’, but there is certainly a connection between the two.
So could there be another alternative for ‘curfew’ that perhaps contains the word ‘نظامی’? I'm only really guessing here, so please excuse me if this is all wildly off target.
