شبکه چند پایگاهی

Explanation:
hop: A single link between two computer
systems that an e-mail message must cross
on its way to its destination. A message may
have to pass over many hops to reach its ultimate
destination; if it must pass between
five computers, it is said to have taken four
hops to reach its destination. (Sybex Cisco Dictionary of Networking, Copyright 2000 Sybex Inc., Alameda, CA).

hop: In long-distance radio communications, the
transmission of a wave and its subsequent return
to the earth from the ionosphere; it is of importance
mainly at low, medium, and high frequencies. (McGraw-Hill Illustrated Dictionary of Electronics)

hop n. In data communications, one segment of the path between routers on a geographically dispersed network. A hop is comparable to one “leg” of a journey that includes intervening stops between the starting point and the destination. The distance between each of those stops (routers) would be a communications hop. (Microsoft Computer Dictionary, 5th Edition)
