A job referral can be the best way to get your resume a closer look from the hiring manager when you are applying for a job. When you're referred for a position, and you mention this referral in your cover letter, you've got a built-in recommendation for the job in the first paragraph.

(this is not the text I am translating but a description of the concept of "job referral"). Does anyone know the Dutch expression for this. It seems like it is a referral from someone known in the relevant company when you are applying for a job there. I see it as: Peter wants to apply for a job at Company X, John already works for company X and supports the application, so Peter can mention in his application letter that John supports his job application or made him aware of the job and said he should go for it. Anyone?

Explanation:
De Engelse term wordt ook vaak onvertaald gelaten, maar dit is een gangbare optie als je toch liever een Nederlandse term (voor de aanbeveling als zodanig) wilt gebruiken.

E.e.a. ook mede afhankelijk van de feitelijke tekst. Bijv. 'referral program' zou je ook als 'referralprogramma' kunnen vertalen en 'referral recruitment' (via-via werving) wordt vaak onvertaald gelaten.
