Een klant vroeg me de vertaling van twee medische dingen. Ik ken daar helemaal niets van en dus hoop ik dat jullie dit kunnen vertalen. Het gaat om het actieve bestanddeel blijkbaar van een middel voor een "delayed graft function".

Hoe zeker ben je van de term YSPSL? Kan het zijn dat de eerste letter geen Y is, maar de griekse letter gamma? Deze letter wordt vaak gebruikt om antilichamen van de klasse IgG (gammaglobulinen) aan te duiden. Het lijkt mij dat hier drie keer hetzelfde staat: rPSGL-Ig: staat voor IgG (antilichamen van de klasse IgG, ofwel gammaglobulinen) tegen het ligand-glycoproteïne P-selectine. In dat geval zouden de letters van de afkorting wel flink door elkaar gehaald zijn - SPSL, SPGL - maar dat lijkt me in dit geval niet onmogelijk.
