Stop hate mongering and violence inciting Community Groups
In recent months, I have seen a significant rise in Groups on Facebook inciting hatred and violence towards minority groups. With so much tension in the world right now from mass displacement of refugees through to nuclear warfare and famine, I think it's time Facebook made it's community standards more rigorus, and helped to make a stand against hate mongerers having a platform to communicate their messages. I recently saw a group asking its members to take pictures of asylum seekers so they could be on the look out for them and "deal with them". This has to stop. Facebook needs tighter controls so innocent people fleeing warzones don't have to worry about being attacked in the country which has granted them asylum.

Met haatzaaien of aanzetten tot haat wordt doorgaans bedoeld het oproepen tot haat of onverdraagzaamheid jegens een individu of groepering, bijvoorbeeld op basis van ras, huidskleur, afkomst of nationale of etnische afstamming. Het Internationaal Verdrag inzake de uitbanning van alle vormen van rassendiscriminatie verplicht staten onder andere om het verspreiden van denkbeelden die zijn gegrond op rassuperioriteit of rassenhaat strafbaar te verklaren. In diverse rechtsstelsels is het aanzetten tot haat strafbaar gesteld. In landen waar dit het geval is wordt deze strafbaarstelling opgevat als uitzondering op de vrijheid van meningsuiting, een vrijheid die daar niet absoluut is. In de Verenigde Staten daarentegen wordt de grondwettelijke (eerste amendement) vrijheid van meningsuiting veel ruimer opgevat en zijn er weinig strafbaarstellingen van hate speech.
Aanzetten tot haat (en geweld) is in Nederland strafbaar gesteld in artikel 137d van het Wetboek van Strafrecht:
Hij die in het openbaar, mondeling of bij geschrift of afbeelding, aanzet tot haat tegen of discriminatie van mensen of gewelddadig optreden tegen persoon of goed van mensen wegens hun ras, hun godsdienst of levensovertuiging, hun geslacht, hun hetero- of homoseksuele gerichtheid of hun lichamelijke, psychische of verstandelijke handicap, wordt gestraft met gevangenisstraf van ten hoogste een jaar of geldboete van de derde categorie.
Indien het feit wordt gepleegd door een persoon die daarvan een beroep of gewoonte maakt of door twee of meer verenigde personen wordt gevangenisstraf van ten hoogste twee jaren of geldboete van de vierde categorie opgelegd.
In artikel 137e Sr is het verspreidingsdelict opgenomen die het (kort gezegd) verbiedt om uitingen te openbaren, of aan een ander toe te zenden, die aanzetten tot haat. Aanzetten tot haat wordt in het Nederlandse strafrecht onderscheiden van de in artikel 137c Sr vervatte groepsbelediging en andere vormen van strafbare belediging, zoals smaad en laster. - Wikipedia
Is Hans Jansen ook een haatzaaier?

Na Arabist Hans Jansens laatste stuk op Hoeiboei te hebben gelezen vraag ik me af of Hans Jansen niet allang ingelijfd is bij de PVV, net als Afshin Ellian. De voorbeelden die deze man aanhaalt staan in geen enkele verhouding met de westerse samenleving. Hij en de PVV doen alsof de vreselijke zaken die zich in landen als Afghanistan afspelen een mix zijn van geloof en cultuur die ook hier iedere dag aan de orde is. Hiermee zaaien ze angst onder de onwetende Nederlanders. Dus is Jansen in mijn ogen ook een haatzaaier. - Krapuul
Kunnen we de haatzaaier niet gewoon negeren?

Het dwaallicht dat de partij van de haatzaaiers in Nederland aanvoert, krijgt wat hij wil. Ik zeg niet ‘wat hij verdient’, al zou ik in mijn visie op vrije meningsuiting dat best mogen zeggen. Ik heb nog net iets te veel beschaving om iemand dood te wensen, ook al wenst hij zichzelf met de dood bedreigd. Hij wilde de felst mogelijke reacties, hij krijgt ze. De haatzaaier heeft, kortom, nergens over te klagen.
Want alle gelamenteer over verwerpelijk, afzichtelijk en niet acceptabel gaat voorbij aan de zieligheid van Geert Wilders. Zijn cartoonwedstrijd (wat een orginele gedachte van deze intellectuele voorganger) is enkel bedoeld om in de stilte rondom zijn mislukte clubje wat roering te brengen. Toegegeven, een blote Wilders zou dat niet kunnen maar wat is hij jaloers op Baudet die wel publiciteit en wel kiezers weet te trekken.
Ja, het past in de vrijheid van meningsuiting zoals ik hem beleef om Wilders alle vrijheid te geven te roepen wat hij wil, of het nu over de islam, over zijn poezen of over Marokkaanse medeburgers gaat. Natuurlijk mag hij dat. En ik mag zeggen dat zijn enige, nu bereikte, doelstelling is om publiciteit te krijgen. Hij vroeg om een doodsbedreiging en hij krijgt hem.
Heel Den Haag en het komkommerjournaille op zijn achterste benen maar kunnen we haatzaaiers als Wilders en Trump niet gewoon negeren? Je kunt ook met die doodsbedreiging omgaan als je niet alle publiciteit eromheen gooit. En kunnen we iedere keer als het weer over ‘afschuwelijk’ en ‘verwerpelijk’ gaat ook vaststellen dat de heer Wilders een verwerpelijk, afschuwelijk mens is, iemand met een verdraaide geest die na 20 jaar in de politiek (gefeliciteerd nog – tijd voor een echte baan?) helemaal niets bereikt heeft dan dat hij permanent bedreigd wordt. - Frans Verhagen
