There is a difference between "spaced" Thermal Protective Performance and "contact" Thermal Protective Performance. Does anyone know what "spaced" stands for in this context?
It is from a description of standards that protective clothing must adhere to.

Bij een 'spaced' test van brandwerende stof/kleding is er geen contact met de hittesensor maar wordt er een tussenruimte gelaten tussen het testmonster en de hittesensor om te meten in hoeverre de stof een barriëre kan vormen tussen de hittebron en de huid.
