Terms in other software applications

Dutch translation: MS default Dutch, Progress probably English

English term or phrase: Terms in other software applications
This is not a question about a specific term. Instead, I'm looking for tips on how to translate interface objects (buttons, check boxes, etc.) of other applications than the 'main'.

To clarify, I translate for a specific software product, and in their installation guide, there are references to other applications, such as Microsoft Windows and Progress OpenEdge. My question is: should I assume that the reader has all other applications installed in Dutch as well (assuming a Dutch version is available, of course)? Or should I keep the English terms for any interface object? Or perhaps I should provide both somehow?

Thanks for any tips in advance!

Explanation:
But you should always ask your client - with the combination of Progress stuff it's more likely the end-user is more technical and has everything in English by default - - it's been a while since I worked at Progress, so I'm not sure they still have all their software in localized Dutch versions...
