We teach in our crisis training, our communications training that is, a series of statements. The first one is called a holding statement, and that’s literally what it is. It’s saying to the media ‘We don’t have a lot of details at this stage, we are going to be open with you, we’re not going to run away from this, we’re not guilty, but we really don’t know what’s going on yet’. But we’re going to say ‘We’re here, something has happened and we’ll give you some more details later on.’ And what that does is stop the media from really going away and finding other sources that may be speculating on what’s going on within your small operation." en dit voorbeeld: PRESS RELEASES Holding Statement (17 November 2003) ukbetting plc notes the recent press speculation regarding the possible acquisition of Oddschecker Limited and confirms that it is in discussions with that company, which may or may not lead to an offer for it. uit eerdere 'worstelingen' van onze collega's op ProZ.com.
