English term or phrase: basting brush
Definition from Cooking.com:
A brush used for brushing oil, butter, or glazes on meats or poultry before or during roasting or broiling; for spreading sauces or oil on pizza dough; and for basting foods as they marinate, grill, or broil.

Example sentence(s):
  • Often, a basting brush comes with a basting pot, a special pot designed to hold the marinade and the basting brush. A niche in the pot keeps the basting brush stable, and the pot is usually meant to hold hot marinades. wiseGEEK
  • Marinades and sauces can add just the right punch to an otherwise bland meal. The Adjustable Basting Brush adjusts for complete basting coverage and a 13" long handle makes the brush comfortable to hold.
  • You would think that buying a basting brush doesn't need much thought but you would be surprised. Did you know that they can harbour bacteria? Everytime you baste meat with marinade, your brush is touching raw meat or poultry. greatfood.ie

Notes to answerer
Fiona Grace Peterson "With its 4,3 kilometers of length, the Austrian circuit is the shortest of the season, with the exception of Monte Carlo, and consists of four straights followed by violent braking and slow corners." http://www.tridentmotorsport.com/en/news/f2-e-gp3-trident-red-bull-ring-preview.html https://www.linguee.com/english-italian/translation/straight+stretch.html Staccata : termine che indica una frenata violenta, al massimo delle prestazioni dell'impianto frenante. Generalmente è utilizzato nel motociclismo sportivo ; https://www.motonotizie.it/news/curiosita/228-il-gergo-dei-motociclisti-elenco-dei-termini-piu-comuni.html I think "al limite" means "at the limit of the vehicle's braking system", as indicated in the glossary entry above. Not my field, of course, but hope to have been of help!

Isidora Jovanovic I would say: maximum braking.

Jo Macdonald You're both on the right track ;) Efficient braking isn't just about hard/maximum braking with powerful brakes. Good brakes will easily lock up a wheel in many conditions. You brake as late as possible on the basis of many different factors: the feeling, feedback and power of your brakes, condition of tyres, the road surface, traction/grip, the others around you especially in front (because you can run into them) and most of all your courage because you’re going too fast and braking at the last possible moment. Using brakes effectively isn't just about braking hard and powerful brakes, you start braking smoothly to press the front tyre/s onto/into the asphalt, then squeeze them gradually to brake hard while going straight so you're using all your grip for braking and none for cornering. Then you trail off the brakes gradually as you go into the curve trading off braking grip for cornering grip so the front tyre/s still have loads of grip (rear/s have much less) and the bike/car suspension doesn't change suddenly, easing off the brakes as you hit the apex to roll on the gas and power out of the curve. Done right it’s a very smooth, feeling technique, not at all violent.
