lentil garbanzo cake mix kageblanding med linser og kikærter Explanation: Kageblanding med linser og kikærter This is a very specialised product, but there are lots of other 'cake mixes' on the market, called 'kageblandinger'. Lentils are 'linser' in Danish, and garbanzos are usually called 'kikærter', occasionally 'garbanzobønner'. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 4 hrs (2008-01-02 12:01:27 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Jeanette's comment makes me wonder too - When are these cakes eaten? Is this a sweet, baked cake as in confectionery? For example cakes are made with carrots, cinnamon and other ingredients. I also have a very good recipe for a chocolate cake with squash or courgettes - so vegetables are used in sweet cakes. Or are these "cakes" in fact savoury patties? (Like English fishcakes.) In that case they would be called frikadeller in Danish. Linsefrikadeller are vegetarian patties with lentils. If they are made mainly with garbanzos they might even be called felafel. The mix would be called "frikadelle-mix with linser og kikærter" |
