English term or phrase: foreshortening
A composition technique (which is made great use of by Beethoven) by means of which musical material is gradually condensed and more concentrated, thus leading to an intensification of dynamics and overall atmosphere of the piece. A particularly good example of the use of this technique is the first movement of Beethoven's Sonata op. 2, no. 1 or the first movement of Sonata op. 54.


Whole sections can be foreshortened; there are foreshortened phrases or parts of phrases, foreshortened successions of rhythmic values or rhythmic sections, foreshortened harmonic progressions (often combined with rhythmic foreshortening). máte pravdu, použil jsem obecnější termín, ale i angličtina to řeší jednoslovným obecným výrazem a pak už záleží na konkrétním kontextu použití, v případě vaší věty (forma, melodie či harmonie).

Asker: Děkuji Vám za příspěvek, nicméně výraz foreshortening ovšem popisuje proces, pomocí nějž je vytvářeno napětí v sonátové formě, tím, že se zhušťují, kondenzují melodické motivy, rytmické hodnoty a harmonické postupy, tudíž ho podle mě nelze přeložit statickým pojmem, jenž navrhujete.
