manipulativní proces, při kterém se záměrně upraví obsah či vizuální kontext (původně dokumentární) fotografie s cílem pozměnit sdělení či posunout jeho vyznění; angl. "fauxtography" je vpodstatě synonymem pro "photo tampering" či "photo manipulation" na poli žurnalistickém, mnohé odkazy na tyto pojmy uvádějí stejných 10 nejznámějších případů...; slovní hříčku v její zvukové podobě nelze do češtiny přeložit (z pojmu "falšografie" zvukově nevyplývá, že jde o fotografii; a navíc se mi nelíbí, že je to hybridní slovo - napůl české, napůl cizí), proto se rozpor mezi realitou a fikcí snažím vyjádřit (vpodstatě protikladnými) adjektivy "manipulovaná" a "dokumentární"; zároveň slovo "dokumentární" dává jasně najevo, že se nejedná o manipulaci čistě uměleckou
