A material that is intentionally added to a pure semiconductor material in order to increase the population of free electrons in that semiconductor, resulting in a net negative charge. A semiconductor that has had donor material added to it is called "n-type."

Riječ donor vrlo se često koristi u elektronici i sličnim područjima, pri opisivanju poluvodičkih materijala i/ili struktura. Donor je materijal koji "daruje" jedan ili više svojih elektrona čistom poluvodiču, kako bi poboljšao svojstva toga vodiča, osobito vodljivost.
