Još jedno pojašnjenje, ovaj broj (2.8) označava maksimalni otvor blende na dotičnom aparatu/kameri. Minimalni se ne pominje.

The first number represents the focal length or focal length range.
But it's the second number we're most interested in right now: it indicates the maximum aperture of the lens. Remember, there's really no point in marking the MINIMUM aperture on the lens, because that's pretty much the same for all lenses.

... 2.8 označava otvor blende iliti zaslona. Ako je cijeli tekst fotografski, možda je dovoljno napisati pri f2.8. Opet, ako se radi o uputi za digitalnu kameru ili čemu sličnom, onda je bolje napisati cijelu frazu jer su mnogi korisnici nenaviknuti na ove oznake.

2.1 Blenda (Aperture)
Blenda je zapravo otvor koji propusta svjetlost. Njena otvorenost (promjer) se oznacava sa F. Neki od primjera su F1:1.4, F1:2.8. Zasto su to bas ovi brojevi, to se racuna po korijenu iz 2 ali cu preskociti taj dio jer je nebitan. Inace se preskace ovaj 1: pa se pise samo F1.4, F2.8. Sto je veci broj koji stoji uz F to znaci da je otvor blende uzi, sto znaci da u istim uvjetima propusta manje svjetla.
