Like in other mobile communication systems, the communication between the base station and the user equipment in the OFDM systems is performed through the so called radio interface. To establish/maintain such communication, special synchronization methods have been developed. The ruling patent describes in this context that when the synchronization scheme is defined for a communication system, several parameters should, of course, be evaluated so that the system operates in an optimal way.
