Thank you, Julia! I was tossing between your answer and pkchan's answer which is equally good! but I wasn't quite sure whether "煲" & "鑊" will be too Cantonese?! But that's what I prefer to call it!

sauce pan & saute pan
湯鍋 (鐵鍋), 煎鍋

Explanation:
According to Cambridge dictionaries online:

1) Saucepan -- a deep round pan with straight sides, usually with a handle and a lid, used for cooking things over heat.
It's basically a cooking-pot, can be translated as 鐵鍋 or 湯鍋.

2) To saute -- to cook food in oil or fat over heat, usually until it is brown.
A saute pan is for 煎/炒, so I would translate it as 煎鍋.

sauce pan & saute pan
平底烧锅和平底煎锅

Explanation:
The difference between Saucepan and Saute pan is that saucepan is deeper (hence you are able to make sauce in it). Sauce pan can have either single or double handle, normally with a lid as well.

Saute pan is to saute meat, fish or vegetable, it is shallow and relatively larger.

Both of them have a flat bottom, which is typical.
