"Слагам бележка под линия, че е непреводима игра на думи и обяснявам смисъла на чуждоезичната фраза." - Да, ако превеждате книга или статия, но ако става въпрос за документ или за масова публикация - "бележките под линия" (бележките на преводача) обикновено биват отсранени от редактора и заменени със самия превод, за да бъде документа лесно четим. Аз поне имам такова впечатление от дългогодишен опит с няколко езикови комбинации.

Mihail Mateev Сама осъзнавате, че няма еквивалент/съответствие на български - тогава просто не предлагате превод. Защо според Вас сте единствената, която е предложила превод?

Mihail Mateev "Вие какво правите в такъв случай, ако няма еквивалент на български?" Слагам бележка под линия, че е непреводима игра на думи и обяснявам смисъла на чуждоезичната фраза.

Mihail Mateev "ако става въпрос за документ или за масова публикация ..." Когато не може да се сложи бележка под линия, обикновено страда (жертва се) фразеологичната красота и се превежда по смисъл. Целта на превода се постига - предава се смисъла, но се губи елегантността на изказа. Конкретно в Proz обаче се търси фразеологичен превод, а не смислов превод (защото смисловият превод всеки човек с ниво B1 или B2 може да си го направи за себе си.)

Съответно фразеологичните изрази се превеждат с фразеологични изрази (изрази, носещи същия смисъл), а не описателно. Например: "you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink" се превежда като "Насила хубост не става", а не "можете да дадете на някого възможността, но той сам трябва да реши дали да действа." Мисля да прекратя участието си в това обсъждане.
