| a \"down\"; third down هجمة Explanation: تتكون المباراة من 4 أشواط، كل شوط مدته نصف ساعة، وبين الشوطين الأول والثاني يتم تبديل الملعب، وبين الثاني والثالث توجد استراحة، ولكل فريق 4 محاولات لتغطية 10 ياردات، وتسمى هذه المحاولة down، ويكون لدى الحكام (ماركر) لحساب الياردات، وتقف الكرة عندما يسقط اللاعب على الأرض عن طريق لاعب آخر، وهو الذي يقوم بمحاولة إسقاطه بتكنيك معين، وتحسب الياردات مكان وقوف الكرة مع سقوط اللاعب، وعند تغطية الـ 10 ياردات تكون هناك 4 محاولات أخرى، أو تذهب الكرة إلى الفريق الآخر إذا لم تتم تغطيتها. | a \"down\"; third down محاولة, محاولة ثالثة Explanation: طريقة الأداء حينما يكون الفرق في حالة هجوم يحتسب له 4 محولات بمعني بعد ضربة البداية، لابد أن ينقل الفريق المهاجم الكرة مسافة 10 ياردات على الأقل. إذا نجح يستمر في الهجوم أما إذا فشل قبل ال10 ياردات يكون الفريق المنافس قد أفسد الهجمة و يبدأ يستخدم محاولاته الأربعة أما إذا نجح الفريق المهاجم في عبور ال10 ياردات و فشل في الإستمرار بعدها. فأنة يستطيع إكمال المحاولة الثانية و لكن يبدأ الرمية من خط اقرب مرمي المنافس بمقدار 10 ياردات - وهكذا حتي يصل إلى خط نهاية الخصم - ولهذا يوضع التقسيم كل 10 ياردات. وتسمي هذه العملية بإكتساب الأرض. فهو أستطاع أن يتقدم في أرض الفريق المنافس و يظل يتقدم كل 10 ياردات او ياخذ الفريق المنافس منه الكرة قبل المرور ليبدأ هو في التقدم نحو منطقة جذاء المنافس و تستمر المباراة بهذا الشكل حتي يصل فريق لمنطقة جذاء الفريق الأخر و يحرز هدفا http://al-mohamady.blogspot.com/2012/02/football.html The team in possession of the football has a limited number of downs (four downs in American football, three downs in Canadian football) to advance ten yards or more towards their opponent's goal line.
