مُهيّأ (أو ملائم) للمناطق ألمدارية Explanation: "Tropicalized" means "made fit or adapted for use in a tropical climate, especially by measures designed to combat the effects of fungi and moisture." (Webster's Dictionary) "Tropical" in this context means related to the tropics. "The tropics" is a funny term, because it can mean two things: 1. It can be the plural of "tropic," which is "either one of the two parallels of terrestrial latitude at a distance of about 23¹/₂ degrees north or south of the equator where the sun is directly overhead when it reaches its most northerly or southerly point in the sky" (Webster's Dictionary). The two tropics are called "The Tropic of Cancer" and "The Tropic of Capricorn." In Arabic we call them مدار السرطان ومدار الجدي 2. "The Tropics" could also refer to the entire region extending from the Tropic of Cancer in the North to the Tropic of Capricorn in the south. This vast region includes the equator but extends far beyond it. Because this area encompasses both tropical areas, strictly speaking, as well as equatorial areas, you will find that in Arabic sources it is referred to in a variety of ways. Some sources call it المناطق المدارية. Others call it المناطق الاسـتوائية. And yet, others call it المناطق المدارية الاسـتوائية or المناطق الاسـتوائية المدارية. Notice that they all prefer to use the plural form in Arabic. I am recommending المناطق المدارية for one reason: it is the term used by the United Nations, as in here: https://www.un.org/ar/events/tropicsday/ Here is an excerpt from that page: المناطق المدارية هي منطقة من الأرض، والتي تعرف تقريباً بأنها المنطقة بين مدار السرطان ومدار الجدي. وعلى الرغم من أن التضاريس والعوامل الأخرى تساهم في تغير المناخ، فإن المواقع المدارية عادةً ما تكون دافئة ولا تشهد تغيرات موسمية تذكر في درجة الحرارة اليومية. ومن السمات الهامة للمناطق المدارية انتشار الأمطار في المناطق الداخلية الرطبة بالقرب من خط الاستواء، وأن موسمية هطول الأمطار تزداد مع المسافة من خط الاستواء They consist of two areas: |
