disagree  Silke Blumbach: "Bjeshke" for me sounds too regionally delimited and has in my opinion the connotation of being used for cattle raising.

  -> The meaning of the phrase is specific to the north of Albania, thus it is regionally delimited. Bjeshkë means highlands and has no relation to ranch, farming or cattle.

nothern Albanian mountains are called "malesi ". The word "malesi" comes from "mal" (mountain) and people that live in malesi used to be called "maloke", but this is considered to be offensive nowadays.

"malesi" ( = highland in English) kind of covers for "high up". Note also that the sentence doesn't say whether Naimi was born and raised there, so Naimi might or might not be "malesor":)

disagree  Silke Blumbach: "Malesi" and "malet" is an unnecessary duplication, I would suggest to use just one of them.

  -> I used "malesi" to translate the "high up" part of the sentence, and "malet" to translate "mountains". Malesi derives from mal, but they are not synonyms. Maybe, I shouldn't use both, but I tried to remain faithful to the original as well.
